NEW BEGINNERS BRIDGE CLASS

Are you interested in learning how to play bridge or need a refresher course?  Please sign up for Nov.13th at 10:30 am at the center and meet Bridge Instructor John Kostiw.  This first meeting will determine what level John will start his class.  Please call 978-568-9638.


Joseph L. Mulready School is asking For Labels

Joseph L. Mulready School is asking us to save the following labels for their school: Please save and bring in all of the following labels:  Campbell Soup labels, V8 Juice bottle lids, Prego Spaghetti Sauce jar lids, Chunky Soup labels, UPC Code off of Goldfish bags, Tyson Chicken Bag’s tear off strips and Nestle Water Bottle labels.   Thanking you in advance!

The Marlborough Lion’s Club is collecting old eye glasses

Please drop off your old eye glasses at the Hudson Senior Center to support the Lion’s Recycle for Sight Campaign.  Thank you!

Assistive Technology Devices
Easter Seals is coming to the Hudson Senior Center Friday November 30th at 10am to present the latest and greatest high tech and low tech assistive technology devices. Assistive technology can be any item that can be used to maintain, increase or improve the function and safety of an elder. Evaluating an elder’s need and making the most cost-effective recommendations is what Easter Seals Assistive Technology Specialists do every day.

Safety and Independence Benefits from Assistive Technology Devices
·        Enable and empower the elder through electronic aids to~daily living (EADLs).
·       Automate specific tasks that an elder is unable to perform (turning lights on/off).
·        Provide a safe and secure environment (alerting the family or caregiver of potentially dangerous~activities and link to local community alarm system).
·        Facilitate in the rehabilitation and care of elders (by giving prompts that could be auditory and/or visual).
·       Modify household items to make everyday tasks easier. Please RSVP for this presentation!

VNA Care Network comes to the Hudson Senior Center November 29th from 10am to 1pm for a Free Bone Density Screening.   You must call and sign up for this important screening.  Free giveaways and of course a “Raffle” for a little added excitement!

The Hudson Senior Center will hold its annual Flu Clinic November 8th, 9am – 12pm.  If you miss the November 8th date there will be a make up date at the Town Hall Auditorium on Wednesday November 14th 3-5pm.

THE NUTCRACKER BALLET:  November 14th at 11:30am
Ana invites you to attend the Ballet Arts in Worcester as they present the Nutcracker Ballet at Clark University.  Tickets are only $10.00 per person. We’re taking our bus, so only 24 can attend.  No lunch with this trip.  Call the Senior Center to reserve your seat.

Holiday Fair November 17, we need your help!
Baked goods are needed for the Fair.  Please help by bringing in your home made, (or not home made) baked goods by Friday November 16 for our Fair.  We appreciate all the time and effort you put into baking for our baked goods table.  Also, for all of you who have made crafts, quilted items, or knitted blankets, baby ensembles, or anything else, please bring the items in anytime this month by November 16th.  Please note we truly appreciate anything and everything you do to help support our Senior Center!

Marlborough Hills And the Wednesday Lunch Bunch Group
November 28th at 12 noon, please join Marlborough Hills for lunch and discussion on Relaxation and Breathing Techniques.  Michael Orlando, Director of Recreation will guide you through simple relaxation techniques you can do anywhere.  (Prepare for Holiday Stress!)
As usual, lunch is free at Marlborough Hills.  Please RSVP to Nan at 508-485-4040. If you need a ride just call the Hudson Senior Center!  THANK YOU

Newport Mansions November 27th at 8:30am

Start your Holiday Season off with a trip to the Newport Mansions and see the “Breakers” and the “Elms” gloriously decorated for the Holidays.   Lunch will be at the Newport Creamery.  Cost is $36.00 for the mansions, lunch, and gas for our bus.

November 7, 8:30-2pm  Free Health Insurance Forum for Portuguese speaking elders.  
At the Portuguese club, funded by MetroWest Health Care Foundation.  All presentations are in Portuguese,
including: Medicare, Part D & Health insurance, Prescription Advantage and more. Breakfast, lunch and Bone Density Screening, from VNA Care Network, is free.  Entertainment includes Mr. Frias and his Portuguese dancers.  Please call the center you must sign up for this free and informative event. 978-568-9638.
