From the “Friends” of Hudson Seniors
Good morning Seniors:
This is a short note to remind you that February 5, 2008 is the Presidential Primary and everyone should vote. However, we recognize that the month of February can be very unpredictable with regards to the weather and that might prevent some of you from voting. For those of you who are unable to get out or find it difficult to go out in bad weather, you may apply for an absentee ballot. This is a very simple thing to do. We have a copy of the absentee ballot application on the back of the mailed Newsletter or you can pick one up at the Senior Center. You fill out the form and mail it back to the Town Clerk: Hudson Town Clerk, 78 Main St. Town Hall, Hudson, MA 01749
Remember on question number 4, you would put a check next to “Mail ballot to me at this address”. Then write down your address. Complete the application by filling in your birth date, phone number and don’t forget to sign it. Please make sure you put January 2008 on the date because you cannot have a 2007 date on the application for a 2008 election. You must send your application for the absentee ballot in early. Once you receive your absentee ballot, complete your ballot and mail or hand deliver it back to the Town Clerk’s office, (the address above) before the close of the polls on Election Day. 8pm. You will probably have plenty of time to mail your ballot back. If you have any questions please call the Town Clerks Office at
978-568-9615
This Presidential Primary Election will also have a ballot question regarding the Hudson Senior Center Renovation Project. We hope you will consider voting “yes” on that proposal. Presently, our center needs more room, more lavatories, and updated electrical and plumbing. Please come to one of our Open Houses in January and see for yourself the condition of our center. We look forward to the day we begin our great adventure of remodeling the “GRAND DAME” of Church Street.
From the Friends Officer’s, have a safe and happy holiday season! Hope to see you at the next Friends meeting Dec. 12th at 10am.
Sincerely,
The “Friends” Officer’s
