February 13th 10:00 am Lincoln and the Election of 1860 Presentation
at the Hudson Senior Center (cost $5.00)  Presented by Dr. Gary Hylander in partnership with Sage Educational Services
Convinced that Lincoln’s election would result in a Republican effort to abolish slavery, Southern fire-eaters from the lower South voted to secede from the Union and to form the Confederate States of America. Lincoln, in his inaugural address, expressed confidence that the crisis would pass and that the Union would be preserved when secessionists were “again touched-by the better angels of our nature.”

Please call the center if you are interested in attending this informative lecture.  This will be Dr. Hylander’s 3rd visit to our center.  He presented “Global Warming” in the spring of 07 and “The Roosevelt Years” in the winter of 07.  An outstanding lecturer, don’t miss this!

                                  IN MEMORY OF
Our deepest condolences goes to the family and friends of Henrietta Clements; Rita Wager, Gert Barry, George Johnston, and Barbara McCarthy.  The Hudson Senior Center would like to thank those who have made donations in their memory. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
