May 4th Sunday, 12-3pm Hudson Historical Society invites the public to their Open House!

May 4th,2008 HUDSON HISTORICAL SOCIETY  Invites the public to attend the Open House on Sunday, May 4th,2008 from 12 noon to 3pm at their new Museum quarters, on the fourth floor of Hudson business Mill Center.  (Former Hudson worsted Mill), 43 Broad Street, Hudson.  The public may view many of the Society’s collections of furnishings, clothing, photographs, books etc. from Hudson past.  Refreshments will be served and there is an elevator.

May 6th   at 1pm West Side Story will be shown at the Senior Center sponsored by Hudson High School students.

MAY 7TH  HOMEMADE PIE CONTEST  552008_14508_3.jpg  Apple, Blueberry, cherry or something else is wanted for our PIE CONTEST.  Your homemade pies will be judged by Town Officials and the judging will be taped for Hudson Cable TV.  All pies must be at the Senior Center for judging by noon May 7th. The Winners will be announced and videotaped at the Mother’s Day Luncheon May 8th at the Senior Center. All Pies must have the person’s name, phone number, and recipe on the bottom of the dish.  Please call the center to let us know if you are going to enter one of your home made pies for this contest!  Pie must be at the center by 12 noon.

Starting May 8th and every Thursday after, OUR TAI CHI PROGRAM IS GROWING AND WILL CONTINUE!  Lou Tagliani will have Tai Chi Form 24 practice at Town Hall 8:30-9:30.  Immediately following, Lou will offer another 6 week beginners class 9:30-10-30. Call the center to sign up.  (THANKS LOU)  
                      
MAY 8T H THURSDAY  A “little” REMINDER…..  MOTHER’S DAY LUNCHEON.   FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD PLACE WINNERS OF THE PIE CONTEST WILL BE ANNOUNCED.

Monday May 12th and 19th 1:30 – 3:00.  MAH JONGG INSTRUCTION FOR BEGINNERS Mah Jong involves skill, strategy, calculation as well as a certain degree of chance.  Pat Dinkin will introduce this game to those interested.  If there is enough interest we will start actual games in June.  Please call to sign up.

May 16th at 8:30ish CHRISTMAS TREE SHOP  Gail will be making a special trip to the Christmas Tree Shop.  You must sign up for this fun shopping trip.

MAY 21ST AT 9:30 AM  FRIENDS MEETING CHANGES IN MAY TO ACCOMMODATE FREE BINGO  In an effort to bring more people into our FRIENDS meetings, the FRIENDS will be holding a FREE BINGO after the May 21st meeting.  You must be present at the meeting to participate in the FREE BINGO.  Attendance will be taken at the meeting. FREE BINGO will follow immediately after the FRIENDS meeting.  Prizes and more prizes at FREE BINGO for those who attend the FRIENDS meeting!  

May 23rd 9:30-12 Candlepin Bowling at the Acton Bowladrome.  Bowling, shoes and lunch is $10.00 and a $2.00 donation for gas.  If you are interested please call Marie at 978-568-9638.  Let’s get together and have some fun and exercise!

May 27th 10am Hudson CVS hosting a complimentary tour for seniors.  Free give a ways too!

May 28th at noon Lunch Bunch with Marlborough Hills.  Free lunch and discussion on Fitness can be fun!  

FITNESS CLASSES  AT “ANYTIME FITNESS.” Tuesday, &Thursday, cardio& muscle training 9:30-10:15 and Friday’s at Town Hall 2nd floor 9:30 am.

Blood Pressure Every Week!! Thursdays: May 1st, 15th, 22nd and 29th  BP and glucose screening with nurse Cheryl. 9-30 11:00am, May 8th, BP checks with VNA  May 13th, 1:30-2:30 BP with Marlborough Hills

The Hudson Senior Center does not endorse any professional services provided for at the center.

Annual “Friends” Cookout will be Tuesday July 1st 11:30 at the Hudson Elks Pavilion.  This is a FREE event; you must call the center to reserve your seat.
Intel volunteers will be on hand to grill the hamburgers and hot dogs!

My Life, My Health, a 6 week workshop is to start June 3rd 10am-11:30ish..  I am waiving the $25.00 charge for the class, so the session is free and will include a copy of the book “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions” and a CD.  If you have chronic pain, limited mobility, decreased energy, frustration with those limitations or notice a negative impact on your social life and daily activities, then THIS CLASS IS FOR YOU.  Please join Janice Long and Rose Pichler for this wonderful program developed and designed by Stanford Medical School.  We have already held two (6) week classes and people LOVE IT.  Please call Janice if you have any questions.
