August 12th TRIP TO KIMBALL’S ICE CREAM STAND IN WESTFORD 10 am at the center! ICE CREAM, MINI GOLF ($11.00) AND BUMBER WATER BOATS ($7.50). They even have lunch, beautiful gardens, and animals. Something for everyone! A summer day trip that should be fun and entertaining. Please call the center and plan on having a good time at Kimballs!
August 13th Special FRIENDS MEETING 2:00 pm. Update on our building project, and much more!
August 15th : Candlepin Bowling at the Acton Bowladrome. Bowling, shoes and lunch is $10.00. (If you do not want lunch or bring your own it is only $5.00) We will be carpooling for this and will need volunteers to drive. If you are interested please call Marie at 978-568-9638. Everyone will meet at the Senior Center by 9am for car pooling!
August 19th TOWER HILL Botanic Gardens We will be going to Tower Hill in Boylston to enjoy their distinctive gardens, showcasing evergreens, fruiting plants, woodland trials and beautiful meadows. Shopping is available at the gift shop which should have a 20% discount at the time of our trip. You may bring your lunch or have lunch at the Twigs Café’. Their menu features cold soups, hefty salads, quiche, sandwiches, homemade desserts and you can even have a glass of wine. Lunch prices will vary from $7.00 to 18.00, the higher price if you have lunch, dessert and wine. A regular admission for seniors is $7.00 but if we have 10 or more going the price will drop to $5.00. Please let us know if you plan on having lunch at the Twigs Café, so we can give them a
count. Remember to wear good walking shoes!
August 19th SMART CHOICES IN RETIRMENT FORUM 6pm at the Senior Center With Nancy Fredrickson, Financial Advisor Ten principles to help make your money last through retirement! A light meal will be provided. You have to sign up for this!
August 21st Good Grief returns 9:30 at center
August 26th Ice Cream Party at 12pm with an introduction to our new Nintendo Wii Sports game system. Learn and experience realistic sports sensations with controls that are close to the actual sports motion. Sports including: golf, bowling, tennis, baseball and boxing. Lots of fun and great for range of motion. Many “Thanks” to the husband and wife who purchased this for us.
The Hudson Senior Center now has the Nintendo Wii sports game system with two controllers, thanks to a lovely couple in Hudson. We are having a special introduction to this fun game that features tennis, bowling, baseball, golf, and boxing on August 26th at 12noon. This game can be fun but can also be competitive if you choose. Lots of fun providing great range of motion. Join us for more fun! Please call so we have enough ice cream!
August 27th Lunch Bunch with Marlborough Hills at noon. Free lunch and discussion on UMASS HOMEHEALTH AND HOSPICE
August 28th JIMMY BUFFETT MARGARETAVILLE PARTY 5-9pm at the Portuguese Club, join us for the 1st annual Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville Party! You know what that means…casual island attire, i.e., shorts, T shirts, jeans, Parrot Hats, (I know you mad hatters from last month are very creative with hat decor so let’s see some original Parrot hats ) etc, and of course Jimmy Buffett tunes played by D.J. Al Boresee. Barbecued cheese burgers, barbecued chicken, shrimp, 2 different types of salads, some desserts, and cash bar with margaritas, if you choose. (Non alcohol margaritas also available). Invite your friends, and attend this relaxing, and fun event. Cost is $15.00 per person. Don’t forget… Dancing and Line Dancing
Every Monday in August Mah Jong Instruction for beginners 9:30-11:30 Mah Jong at the Senior Center. Our new Mah Jong players are on their own, but of course Pat will be close by for questions! Good Luck to our new Mah Jong players
NEW SUMMER GOLF LEAGUE HAS STARTED TWIN SPRINGS GOLF COURSE IN BOLTON Every Wednesday you may tee off at 9am at Twin Springs for $12.00 a week or $19.75 (including a cart). It’s not too late to sign up so call the Senior Center today and have some FUN! Twin Springs is a lovely course!

IT IS TIME TO SIGN UP NOW FOR THE FALL COMPUTER CLASSES The number of seats are limited so sign up early.
The Intermediate classes will start September 16 (2:30 – 4:00PM) and continue on Tuesdays through November 18.
The Beginners II classes will start September 17 (2:30 – 5:00PM) and continue on Wednesdays through November 19.
The Beginners I classes will start September 18 (2:30 – 5:00PM) and continue on Thursdays through November 20.

Note, The dates and times for the Beginners Classes have not yet been approved by the High School and thus are subject to change. Am hoping to get this approval within a few days.
