Sept. 5th Friday 10:00 AM to Noon The Electronic Age and Its Impact On the Next Generation presented by Ellen Schuck, Director of Technology for the Hudson Public School System
The electronic age is changing the lives of the next generation as much, if not more so, than the automobile changed ours. The automobile was once a luxury toy for Sunday rides in the country sides. Today, for most of us, it is our means of survival. The electronic tools are quickly becoming the means of survival for the next generation. It is affecting the way they communicate, get information and live their lives. Even more important, it is giving them the tools needed to solve more complex problems faster than we have ever been able to do so in the past. All of this has changed the requirements for their education.
Mrs. Ellen Schuck is one of the leaders in identifying and implementing these changes for the students in our community. She will explain the impact the electronic age is having on the next generation and how education is changing to meet these needs. She will also introduce us to a few of the newer tools in this age such as the blogs and podcasts we might not yet have experienced. This will be an enlightening session you won’t want to miss. For those who have signed up for the computer classes this fall, you will find it an excellent way to start the season. Call Marie at the Senior Center (978-568-9638) if you are planning on attending this session.
By the way, those rides in the country side were found to be very enjoyable by our grandparents, just as you might find a ride in the country side on your computer very enjoyable if you aren’t already doing so. If you need help taking that ride, sign up for one of the computer classes. See below or click on this link for information on the computer classes.
