June 3rd 1pm Podiatrist Dr. Cooper, will be at the Hudson Senior Center 2nd floor Town Hall

June 10th, 1pm Attorney Sousa: call the center for an appointment.
             
June 11th, 11:30 am, MAKE YOUR OWN SUNDAES (Free) Bolton Manor will host a “Make your own Sundae” for Hudson Seniors at Hudson Town Hall 2nd floor.  You must call the center if you are interested, (we want to have enough ice cream & toppings)

June 11th at 11am BASEBALL ANYONE? Worcester Tornadoes Semi Pro Baseball team has many 7pm games during the summer and a few 11am games.  There is a game on June 11th at 11am.  If you are interested, please call the center.  They play at Holly Cross and I heard it’s a lot of fun with many surprises.  Ticket prices listed below.   The bleacher seats have no backs, but the box seats do.  We may be able to do better than $10.00 for the box seat.  Call and let us know if you are interested in the June 11th game and/or an evening game we can schedule later.  Single Game Ticket Prices  Worcester Tornadoes Baseball~

June 16th 12:00, The Hudson Senior Center will host:  The Elder Law Clinic Series  Featuring Marlborough Attorney Arthur Bergeron The Elder Law Clinic Series present asset protection strategies for seniors.  .  The third seminar, will deal with minimizing and reducing income and estate taxes.    “Plan now to make sure your property goes where you want it to go after you die, NOT to the IRS and Dept. of Revenue” Learn About:  Capital Gains Taxes on Property, Income Taxes on IRA’s and 401(k)’s, Federal and Mass Estate Tax and .  How to Avoid them All.  Free Lunch will be provided. Please sign up in advance by calling the Hudson Council on Aging at (978) 568-9638.  If you have questions regarding the seminars call Attorney Bergeron at 508-481-0103 x228.

June 18th 11:30 Advocates, Inc; Presents “Mind Wellness: When are the BLUES just the BLUES?” and June 25th 11: “Strategies for Healthy Aging”  At the Hudson Senior Center, Town Hall 2nd floor  Jennifer Miller MA in Mental Health will talk about the importance of good mental health in addition to ones overall health.  Jen will also have time available after each session for private individual talks with anyone who has any questions or concerns.    Please join us and Jen, a dynamic speaker by calling 968-568-9638 to reserve your spot.  (Coffee and snacks will be provided)  This event is sponsored by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs


June 24th noon  Lunch Bunch at Marlborough Hills topic of discussion Financial Planning!  Free lunch will be served. Please call 508-485-4040 for reservations.

Aerobics at BOOST FITNESS  Starting the second week of June, we will be continuing our regular schedule of aerobics Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 to 10;15 and Friday 8:30 to 9:15 until the end of June.   We will take July and August off and start the program again in September.  This program is sponsored by Executive Office of Elder Affairs.  

Blood Pressure Every Thursday 9:30 – 11 at the Town Hall

MAH JONG Every Monday 1:00 pm MahJong at the Peter’s Grove and every Thursday at 1:00 at the Esplanade.  Those who want Mahjong on Monday mornings at 9:30 you are welcome to come to the Town Hall 2nd floor.

WALKING CLUB  Every Wednesday meet at 9am at Town Hall

LINE DANCING every Monday 10am at the Hudson Boys &Girls Club

BRIDGE INSTRUCTION Every Tuesday morning 10am at Town Hall

SILVER THREADS QUILTING GROUP If you would like to learn how to quilt or if you are a seasoned quilter, join the Hudson Silver Threads.  They are a wonderful group of woman who are fun, warm and friendly.  They really enjoy each others company, love meeting new people and make the most beautiful quilts.  You can’t go wrong with this group!  Every Thursday 10:30 am 2nd floor Town Hall.

GOLF COURSE & DRIVING RANGE   Attention all golf enthusiasts, we are starting our Twin Springs Golf league every Wednesday. Cost is $13.00 each week plus an extra $8.00 for a cart.   You pay Twin Springs directly.  The challenging layout features small targets requiring precise shot making for the experienced golfer yet remains friendly to novice and young golfers alike.  Have fun and get some great exercise!

New Tai Chi Class - Health for Body and Mind  St. Luke’s Church, located at the Hudson rotary has agreed to let us have our Tai Chi classes downstairs on Thursday’s starting May 7th.  Lou will have Tai Chi for Beginners Class from 9-10am and a 24 Forms Practice Class from 10-11.  To take the Practice Class you need to have taken the 24 Forms Class. Please call 978-568-9638 to sign up!  Thank you to St. Luke’s Church and Lou!

BOCCE  ANYONE  Please call the senior center if you are interested in playing Bocce at Cellucci Park on South Street. (Right in our own back yard)  It’s a lot like bowling; some people call it Italian lawn bowling.  Let’s have fun and give this a try.   Call if you are interested.  We can have a picnic after Bocce.

Bill Payer Program  The Money Management Program uses trained volunteers to help older adults on a limited income and people with disabilities who have difficulty budgeting, paying routine bills and keeping rack of financial matters and do not have family or friends who can help.  The program is designed to prolong independent living in the community for individuals by balancing their checkbooks, aiding in budgeting, writing checks, acting as an advocate with creditors and service providers, and more.  It is free and confidential.  If you feel that you have a need for this service or know someone who does and would like to discuss this further, call BayPath Elder Care and speak with the Money Management Coordinator at 508-573-7241. (You can also speak with Janice, Renee or Ana at the Senior Center)


Thank you so much for supporting the  Hudson Food Panty   Much thanks to everyone who has brought in donations of food and paper products for the food pantry.  It really makes a difference to those in need.  The kindness of the people in Hudson will never cease to amaze me.  A big thank you to all who donate!

 A heart felt thank you to all who made contributions to the Senior Center in memory of:  J. Fred Gately.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to their family and friends during this difficult time.
