RENOVATION NEWS FOR DECEMBER 2007
The November 19th Town Meeting was attended by many senior citizens. This clearly shows your support for the senior center renovation and expansion. Some citizens expressed that they did not feel informed about this project. Thus, we have added more user friendly links to the feasibility study that was posted on the Town’s web site back in February. Copies of the study are also available at the Center. The “Friends” have decided to have a Senior Center Open House, to be held on the following dates; Monday Jan. 14th 5:30-6, with a building tour at 7PM, Wed. Jan. 23rd 10-2pm and Saturday Jan. 26th 10-2 pm. We would like to invite the public to take a walk through the center to view for yourselves
the building features worthy of preserving and the areas of the structure that are in critical need of upgrade. Also on January 14th at 6pm, we will have an open public meeting to discuss a possible next round of funding for the project. We will discuss the Community Development Block Grant and consider weather or not the town should apply for funding to support the construction cost. Michelle Ciccolo, Assistant Administrator /Director of Community Development, will conduct this meeting and take your feedback. She will also update us on the status of the existing design effort now underway with CDBG funds. Please put this date on your calendar!
