What is a Parking Study?
The Town of Hudson is undertaking a comprehensive Downtown Parking Study.  This study will include everything from parking utilization and turnover counts, to infrastructure analysis and parking management recommendations, even wayfinding signage.  As part of our data collection, we are seeking your opinion.  By allowing the residents and business community to identify priorities and concerns for the Downtown, the study will describe the Town’s vision for the future, as well provide guidance to accomplish that vision.

Previous Plans
Parking and traffic problems have plagued the Hudson Downtown for decades.  In early planning studies dating back to the 1964 Master Plan, parking and traffic circulation issues were identified as issues of concern.  Similarly the 1994 South West Sector Report, the 2002 Urban River Visioning project, and the 2004 Community Development Plan all highlighted parking and mobility needs.  All of these studies noted the important relationship between adequate parking, good traffic circulation and walkable environments as key elements to creating a framework in which a community can thrive and maintain a healthy vibrant Downtown.

Consultant Selection
After an intense process, the  Town has chosen the consulting firm of Nelson|Nygaard Consulting Associates, Inc. as the firm to carry out Hudson's Downtown Parking Study.
