Beaver Control

In accordance with Massachusetts General Law c. 131, s. 80A, residents affected by flooding caused by beaver and muskrat-related activities may be alleviated through an Emergency Permitting Process with the board of health. Please refer to this guidance document for more information: A Citizen’s Guide to Addressing Beaver Conflicts.

To apply for an emergency permit, please complete and submit the application form: 10-Day Emergency Beaver Permit Application. You may also need consent from the property owner where the beaver dam is located. Download the Landowner Consent Form here. Please keep in mind that the cost associated to properly alleviate the flooding is the responsibility of the affected party, not the property owner where the beaver dam is located.
