Prohibited Items

The following materials are not accepted for disposal as trash under Massachusetts state regulation (310 CMR 19.017) and must be separated and recycled.

  • Glass Containers
  • Metal Containers
  • Narrow-Neck Plastic Containers
  • Recyclable Paper
  • Yard Waste (leaves, grass, etc.)
  • Lead Acid Batteries (not accepted at this facility)
  • White Goods (appliances)
  • Tires
  • Cathode Ray Tubes (TV’s, computer monitors, etc.)
  • Asphalt Pavement, Brick and/or Concrete
  • Metal
  • Devices containing mercury
  • Medical Sharps
  • Mattresses and Boxsprings
  • Textiles

HAZARDOUS WASTES

No hazardous waste, including waste motor oil and antifreeze, is accepted at the Transfer Station.

Please contact the Health Department for dates of the semi-annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events. Household hazardous wastes are accepted at these events free of charge to Hudson residents.

MEDICAL SHARPS

Medical "Sharps" may be disposed of free of charge at the shack at the Transfer Station. Individuals must place the sharps in the large sharps container.

UNWANTED MEDICATIONS

Unwanted and expired medications are collected 24/7 at the lobby of the Police Station located at 911 Municipal Drive. Local pharmacies may also collect unwanted medications.
