A permanent PFAS treatment system will be installed in a new prefabricated metal building system located at the existing Chestnut Street Water Treatment Plant in Hudson, MA. Woodard & Curran, the Town’s engineering consultant, designed the system, which includes all the associated process piping, electrical work, control system upgrades, new generator, site work, and paving.

Bay State Regional Contractors, Inc. was awarded construction contract on December 22, 2021. Final completion of the Hudson Chestnut Street PFAS Treatment System is anticipated by November 17, 2022. 

The total project cost is $5,608,461. The local funding authorization for this project was received at the May 2021 Annual Town Meeting. Project is financed by Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF).  

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection administers the DWSRF program with joint funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Visit mass.gov or epa.gov for more information about the DWSRF
