FY24 Water Meter Replacement Project

WATER METER REPLACEMENT PROJECT

The Water Meter Replacement Program is underway. This is a mandatory replacement program for all residential and commercial business customers. There is no cost to the homeowner or business owner for the meter replacement. The new meters will provide the Town with accurate water usage readings which will ensure accurate billing. Once the new meters are installed, the Town will be able to collect the usage readings electronically using a drive-by system.

What to expect:

Hudson Department of Public Works Water Division has contracted with Mass Installation Inc. (MII) for this project. Starting in July-August 2023, water users in Town should receive a letter in the mail outlining the program and directions for scheduling water meter replacement. Letters will be going out to certain regions of the town sooner than others.
Upon receiving the letter, residents are asked to schedule their meter replacement within two weeks. All tenants or renters are asked to notify re: the letter to the building owner for scheduling purposes. CALL 1-800-933-1360 . This upgrade includes the installation of a new water meter and reading device at every home or business by Mass Installation Inc (MII). The MII employees will have proper identification and will be driving clearly marked vehicles. We ask that the property owner allow them to enter the property to replace the meter. An adult over the age of 18 must be present in your home during the meter change. If it is not a convenient time or if no one is home at the time, a notice will be left with information to schedule an appointment. You may also receive a call from MII to schedule an appointment. Most meter replacements will take about 30 minutes. Please ensure that the water meter location is accessible and restrain any pets during the course of the visit.
