Hydrant Flushing Thursday, April 29th

The DPW will be flushing hydrants on the following streets on Thursday, April 29th:

Appleton Dr.

Richardson Rd.

Old North Rd.

Blueberry Ln.

Woodrow St.

Birchwood Rd.

Forest Ave. – Marlboro St. to Wheeler Rd.

Stowe Ct.

Knotts Clearing

100 Tower St.

Bennett St.

Carlton St.

Dean St.

Welsh St.

Vinal St.

 

Flushing hydrants is an important preventive maintenance activity that verifies proper operation of the hydrant and ensures adequate water flow will be available if the need for firefighting arises.

When hydrant flushing occurs in your community, you may notice slightly discolored water coming from your faucet. If this happens, simply run your cold water tap for a few minutes. This temporary discoloration only affects the appearance of the water – it does not cause a health or safety risk.
